When our website was revealed for the first time to the J-girls, immediately we fell in love with our mascot – the giraffe. We carried out a quick research about giraffes. This is what we found and how the giraffe relates to you:

Genre

The giraffe is an African even-toed hoofed mammal. The tallest living earthly animals and the largest ruminants.

Do you know – Giraffes can eat 70-80 pounds of leaves a day and feed 16-20 hours.

A group of Giraffe is called a “tower” and a group of Giraffe in motion is called a “journey” or a “stretch.”

Height

Giraffes are the tallest mammals on Earth. Their legs are taller than most humans—about 6 feet.

Over short distances, they can run as fast as 35 miles an hour (mph), and cruise at 10 mph when they travel longer distances.

A giraffe’s neck is too short to reach the ground.

Nutrition

Giraffes are ruminants just like cows, sheep, and deer, that means they eat plants. They have more than one stomach.

Actually, the giraffes have four stomachs, and the extra stomachs assist with digesting food.

Life span

Giraffes can live up to 26 years old in the wild. They can live much longer in captivity where disease and predators are absent.

IQ

They are also very intelligent when searching for food.

Physically, giraffes are quiet, extremely tall, have excellent eyesight and are well-thought-out to be very intelligent.

The intelligence of giraffes is a factor in how quickly they adapt in response to changing external stimuli.
